Israel-Sweden Bi-National R&D Project: Wireless Pulse Oximeter
In September 2007, Aerotel Medical Systems, together with Swedish partners, Karolinska University Hospital and TeliaSonera have received a go-ahead for a new joint project called "WiPOX". The aim of the project is to develop and evaluate a unique wireless wrist-wearable pulse oximeter and medical monitoring system. This is the second joint R&D project of the three partners.
This initiative has received approval for partial funding by Vinnova (Swedish side) and MATIMOP (Israeli side), under SIBED (Sweden-Israel Bi-national Testebed Program), which is administered under the umbrella of EUREKA. The project duration will be 21 months.
The Eureka project, E! 4153 WiPOX has been endorsed by EUREKA and obtained the EUREKA Status which indicates that the project has been assessed and meets the high standards required for obtaining the Eureka Label. With this endorsement the project has joined the prestigious group of about 200 Eureka projects that were granted a label during 2007.
